COSMETIC & FACIAL ACUPUNCTURE

Natural Facial Rejuvination

Acupuncturist Michael Sassack specializes in cosmetic facial acupuncture. Often called a "non-surgical face-lift," facial rejuvenation offers a natural option for stimulating collagen and elastin production without the use of knives or Botox injections. Additionally, cosmetic acupuncture enhances local blood flow to the face to aid in restoring a more youthful appearance.

Cosmetic acupuncture can help
  • improve skin tone and texture
  • reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • reduce visibility of acne and scars
  • increase elasticity

Facial acupuncture can also alleviate symptoms of a variety of health issues including:
  • allergies
  • Bell's palsy
  • trigeminal neuralgia
  • ptosis
  • stroke recovery
  • TMJ (temporomandibular joint pain)
  • multiple sclerosis

Frequently Asked Questions
How long is a session?
Our facial acupuncture sessions are an hour long which allows time for insertion of needles, about 30 minutes with needles in the face and body, time to remove the needles, and the application of facial cupping.

What is facial cupping?
Facial cupping involves using small suction cups on the face to help lift the superficial layers of skin away from the underlying muscle and fascia to further promote collagen and elastin production. It leaves you with a healthy-looking glow! Unlike cupping you may have seen (or experienced) on the back, arms, or legs facial cupping is very gentle and does not leave marks on the skin.

Can I receive facial acupuncture if I've received Botox or had a surgical face-lift?
Facial acupuncture can be performed after Botox or face-lift, but it is necessary to wait for healing to be complete. Facial acupuncture can be received starting three weeks after the most recent Botox injection, and six weeks following a surgical face-lift.

Why is facial acupuncture more expensive than other acupuncture treatments?
Our traditional acupuncture treatments are only 30 minutes long. Because facial acupuncture involves a greater number of needles with a different insertion protocol, it requires more time and expertise from the acupuncturist. We also include a facial cupping massage in your treatment after the needles have been removed. Cosmetic acupuncture treatments are an hour long.

How many sessions will I need to see results?
You'll begin noticing small results right away, but as with all acupuncture treatments facial acupuncture has a cumulative effect. The results will become more noticeable after every treatment. We typically recommend weekly treatments for 6-8 weeks, after which we wean down to every-other week treatments, eventually maintaining results with monthly treatments.

How should I prepare?
It's best to arrive with a fresh face and no makeup. We are happy to supply makeup removal cloths for your convenience.
