Michael Sassack
Acupuncturist

Michael first became interested in holistic health while studying medicine in China. When visiting rural communities that utilize acupuncture in everyday medicine he observed first-hand its astounding effects on pain management and general well-being.
Michael specializes in the treatment of many conditions including pain, asthma and allergies, and infertility. He also has extensive training in facial and cosmetic acupuncture, which is utilized in the treatment of skin issues related to the aging process, allergies, bell's palsy, trigeminal neuralgia, ptosis, stroke recovery, TMJ, and/or multiple sclerosis.
Mr. Sassack holds an undergrad degree from Kalamazoo College in biology, and a Master's degree from Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago where he studied acupuncture. Michael has six kids between the ages 8 and 17. He enjoys being active outdoors, live music, cooking, and watching and playing all kinds of sports in his free time.
Karissa McCallum
Acupuncturist, Herbalist, Doula

Karissa began her studies in Chinese Medicine without ever having had acupuncture—drawn to its holistic approach to physical, emotional, and nutritional health. At the time, she was experiencing amenorrhea (absent menstrual cycles), which resolved through acupuncture, herbal medicine, and dietary therapy. That experience continues to shape her practice today.
Now a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, essential oil educator, and DONA-certified doula—as well as a mom of five—Karissa brings deep compassion and clinical expertise to her work. She specializes in women’s health and fertility, pregnancy and postpartum care, pediatric treatments, and the relief of chronic pain, especially neck and shoulder tension, headaches, and migraines.
Karissa holds a Bachelor’s in Human Development and Psychological Services from Northwestern University and a Master’s in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine – Chicago.
